BROOKLYN - Many people have left the dinner table early this Thanksgiving Day to take advantage of some shopping bargains.

In an attempt to help boost the economy, many stores opened one day early to bring in some extra cash. While the stores hope to attract more customers to help sales, the shoppers also want to get a head start before the yearly rush.

The National Retail Federation projects that overall holiday spending will drop 1 percent, which amounts to a $437 billion loss nationwide.
