DUMBO - A group of Dumbo students are trying to encourage coffee lovers to reduce waste by ditching the paper cup and going green with a new recyclable cup.

The Good to Go cup looks like the to-go cups on the streets, except they're made of blue plastic and are reusable.

Brooklyn Roasting Company in Dumbo is now giving customers the option to order coffee in the new cup. Customers use the cup with a deposit, and return the cup at the shop where it was bought or at a drop-off station. Then it's washed and sanitized before being reused.

As an added incentive, customers get a discount on a cup of coffee for going green every time they use a Good to Go cup at the Brooklyn Roasting Company.

Right now, the Good to Go cup is a pilot program, but organizers say the goal is to spread the concept to more businesses throughout the city.
