Rikers guard wins $54 million lottery jackpot

BROOKLYN - Rikers Island security guard Garina Fearon has 54 million reasons to smile.

The 34-year-old single mom from East New York who says she has endured a lifetime of hardship and poverty is the winner of last Friday's Mega Millions drawing.

Fearon said she will take the lump-sum option, which will pay her about $30 million before taxes. She plans to pay off some bills, help her ailing mother and provide for her two children.Beyond that, Fearon says she say no idea what she will do with the money.
