Roadways, sidewalks need time to thaw

Despite the warmup overnight, some sidewalks and roads are still frozen and slippery, city officials are warning.

CANARSIE - Despite the warmup overnight, some sidewalks and roads are still frozen and slippery, city officials are warning. 

City officials say even though it rained last night amid warmer temperatures, the ground will take longer to warm up and that means some roads and sidewalks are still slippery.

They recommend taking it easy this morning when traveling and giving yourself extra time when commuting.
