Rooftop barbecue fire at 38th Street building spurs evacuation, injures 4 firefighters

BROOKLYN - The FDNY was called in to quell a rooftop fire sparked by a barbecue Saturday morning.

The fire started atop a building with residential homes and businesses on 38th Street at around 11:30 a.m., causing everyone inside to evacuate.

The fire chief says four firefighters suffered minor injuries while at the scene. He warns residents to avoid barbecues on combustible roofs.
