BRIGHTON BEACH - Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will sign a law that bans Americans from adopting Russian children.

The upper chamber of Russia's Parliament unanimously voted in support of the bill. The law is part of a larger measure in response to a recently signed U.S. law that calls for sanctions against Russians deemed to be human rights violators.

Many Americans say the law is wrong as it hurts children who are in need of a home.
