Sales surge as Verizon begins to provide iPhone

BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents with Verizon service who want an iPhone are running to the stores.

Residents flocked to Verizon stores to be the first to get the Apple product after the cell phone carrier announced it will carry the device. AT&T, which exclusively offered the device before today, was known for an antenna issue that provided spotty coverage in New York for those with iPhones.

Some technology bloggers have warned that the same antenna issue iPhone users experience with AT&T may carry over to Verizon.

Still, many Verizon customers say they?ve been waiting for years to get their iPhone.
