BROOKLYN - The man accused of targeting and killing multiple shopkeepers says the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) can help prove his innocence.

A Wall Street Journal report says Salvatore Perrone told a judge that surveillance video from the Parkside subway station would show he left the area of the most recent murder more than an hour before it occurred.

The judge told Perrone that if the video exists, it would be provided to him and his lawyer. Perrone says he also has an alibi for the other two murders.

Perrone is accused of killing three local shopkeepers, all of whom were of Middle Eastern descent.
