MANHATTAN - Sandy victims were at City Hall today to call for an extension to the city's Build it Back program, claiming the program has been wrought with problems and delays.
The program was launched last June for victims to get access to relief money for rebuilding. Thousands applied, but to date, no homeowners have seen any construction work start.
Brooklyn Councilman Mark Treyger (D) says the deadline, which closed in October, should be extended.
Groups like Faith in New York and The Alliance for a Just Rebuilding say they're looking forward to meeting with Mayor Bill de Blasio to talk about improving Build it Back.
