BROOKLYN - Wednesday's severe snowstorm in Brooklyn turned local residents' commute into a sloppy mess.

The Department of Sanitation asked drivers to take it slow on the slick roads as their trucks worked to plow the roadways.

About 510 plows were on the streets of Brooklyn.
