BROOKLYN - The Department of Sanitation was out in full force as storm cleanup kicked into high gear.

Commissioner John Doherty said that all main city roads were clear and passable, but that tertiary roads still needed some work. They are all expected to be taken care of by the end of the day.

Crews have been hard at work on 12-hour shifts throughout the blizzard with hundreds of plows and tens of thousands of pounds of salt.

Residents can also use the city's online plow tracking tool to find out exactly when their street will be cleaned.
