BOROUGH HALL - A local group hosted an event today for rape and sexual assault victims to speak openly about experiences and get help if needed.

The event was hosted by "SAYSO," which stands for "sexual assault yearly speak out." The goal of the event was to promote healing and raise awareness about sexual assault. Organizers say the event also gives out information on rape crisis services offered throughout the city.

Organizers say the event was held outside Borough Hall where victims could feel more comfortable to gather information and attend workshops.
