CONEY ISLAND - A wheelchair-bound girl is still waiting for repairs to the elevator leading to her family's third-story apartment.

Schaina Burgess, 8, has not been able to leave her home since Sandy struck five months ago. She is currently being home-schooled, and her mother, Sherry Barnett, has been by her side the entire time.

Building management told News 12 Brooklyn that the elevator would be fixed by March 25, but is now saying it should be fixed next week.

The family will spend Easter inside the apartment.
