'Schmutz' report finds filth in city trains

A new report from the Straphangers Campaign finds that the cleanliness of Brooklyn subway lines is deteriorating. In its yearly "Schmutz" report, the group says

BROOKLYN - A new report from the Straphangers Campaign finds that the cleanliness of Brooklyn subway lines is deteriorating.

In its yearly "Schmutz" report, the group says that the "R" train had the dirtiest subway cars in the city last year.

The report finds that 47 percent of trains in Brooklyn were rated as clean compared to 56 percent in 2009.
