SUNSET PARK - School was in session Wednesday throughout the city, and while some don't mind going to school in the snow, others weren't too happy.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says keeping the schools open was "the right thing to do," adding the city will only close its public schools when it's absolutely necessary.

Some students and parents heading to school complained that it was too cold to go to school. But others were alright with having class, with some students concerned they'd fall too behind on their work. One school employee was grateful it was open so she could work and get paid.

Parents going out into the cold weather were still advised to bundle up, as temperatures remain well below freezing.
