BROOKLYN - Chancellor Dennis Walcott made his rounds over the weekend, giving parents a preview of what to expect this upcoming school year.
Walcott attended services Sunday at a Bronx community church where a youth choir sang and the congregation prayed for a successful school year.
Following the service, Walcott announced after-school expansions citywide thanks to a $13 million investment, which will increase the number of program seats by 4,000.

Walcott also spoke about changes to Common Core programs and new standards that will help prepare students for 21st century jobs.
