Search for Brighton Beach gunmen continues

BROOKLYN - Police are still searching for the gunmen who opened fire on a crowded Brighton Beach boardwalk at around 5:30 p.m. last night, killing one teen and injuring four others.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne says police have questioned some people and mentioned the shooting may have been gang-related.

The shooting has some questioning where police were at the time of the incident. The Brighton Beach Neighborhood Association says it is the time of the year when kids are winding down from the school year and it gets to be too much for the police force.

However, during an unannounced visit to the Brighton Beach area, NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly says they have enough officers patrolling the area, adding that they're just spread out.
