LONG ISLAND CITY - The search for a missing autistic boy from Queens has intensified both in and outside of New York City.

The NYPD is receiving help from police in New Jersey and Long Island as they look for 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo, who's been missing for 11 days. Oquendo was last seen on Oct. 4, where surveillance cameras at the Center Boulevard School in Long Island City show him leaving.

Oquendo's family says he's autistic and unable to communicate verbally. His father Daniel says they haven't given up and are hoping someone took him in.

Danny Oquendo, Avonte’s brother, says the missing high school freshman enjoys electronics, trains and going to the park.

The NYPD says it has 100 officers looking for Oquendo throughout the city. The MTA is also running continuous ads at subway stations, urging riders to keep an eye out for him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. A $70,000 reward is being offered for his safe return.
