BAY RIDGE - State Sen. Martin Golden unveiled $65,000 in state funds today to purchase a new vehicle used to drive the elderly to and from senior centers in Bay Ridge.

Their old van was totaled in an accident this past summer.

"If we don't get our seniors into locations like the Bay Ridge Center, they don't come out," said Golden. "They are trapped in their homes. It becomes a prison for them."

Seniors in Bay Ridge now have two transport vans and are raising money for a third.
