An NYPD police officer who was hailed a hero after being shot in the head while on duty in Brooklyn made an arrest this week

BROOKLYN - An NYPD police officer who was hailed a hero after being shot in the head while on duty in Brooklyn made an arrest this week in the same building where he was wounded.

Sgt. Kevin Brennan worked with a fellow officer to arrest two men in the Bushwick Houses who were wanted for a recent robbery. During the bust, Brennnan found a loaded handgun in one of the suspect's waistband.

Brennan had chased murder suspect Luis Ortiz in the same NYCHA complex last January. Ortiz shot him in the back of the head during a struggle, and is expected to go to trial for the crime on June 11.
