Shavuot a boon for flower shops

BOROUGH PARK - Flower shops in Borough Hall say the Jewish holiday of Shavuot is a huge boost for their bottom line.

Residents of the mostly Hassidic neighborhood flocked to flower stores today to mark the holiday, which celebrates God giving his people their holy book.

With Shavuot ending on Thursday night, the owners of Petal Pride say they are looking forward to a few more days of great business.
