Shenequa Gayle, of Prospect Leffert Gardens, arrested after Manhattan hit-and-run

BROOKLYN - Two Brooklyn residents were arrested after a hit-and-run accident in Manhattan Friday morning.

Police say a car driven by 20-year-old Shenequa Gayle, of Prospect Leffert Gardens, hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Bowery Street. They say she fled the scene across the Manhattan Bridge and into Brooklyn.

Police arrested Gayle on charges of leaving the scene of an accident. They also arrested 23-year-old Tyrone Morant, of Crown Heights, who was driving the car when it was found by authorities.

Tyrone Morant was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and being an unlicensed operator.
