Shooting victim dies after driving to hospital

BROOKLYN - A man was able to drive himself to Kings County Hospital after he was shot multiple times, but he later died.

Police say 37-year-old Rickie J. Young was wounded in the left shoulder and the jaw when he arrived at the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators determined that he'd been shot in front of a building on Lefferts Avenue in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens at around 5 a.m.

The site of the shooting was around the corner from Young's home.

Authorities are searching for the gunman. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
