BROOKLYN - Many shoppers across Brooklyn have been taking advantage of Memorial Day sales being offered this holiday weekend.
At Something Else, a clothing store on 86th Street, the store manager says holiday ads kept customers pouring in. Many owners agree the holiday has been a busy one, despite the poor economy.
Mike Villamena, who owns a local pool supply store, says foot traffic has slowed on Memorial Day compared to years ago. He says that even though sales are down, the amount of people servicing their pools is up, giving him a positive outlook for the summer season.
