BROOKLYN - The Shorefront Jewish Community Council in Brighton Beach is preparing extra food for Passover this year.

Shorefront prepared 1,500 bags of food, in addition to potatoes and chicken. Organizers say they prepared 200 more bags than last year, in part because Sandy victims are still struggling.

The Met Council on Jewish Poverty provides the food for Shorefront to distribute.

Organizers with the Met Council on Jewish Poverty say they will deliver more than 2.5 million pounds of Kosher Passover food to those in need around the city.
