BROOKLYN - Brooklyn commuters faced messy conditions Monday evening, but forecasters predicted a shift to rain later on as temperatures rose.

Commuters traveled home with icy roads and snow-covered sidewalks on Pennsylvania Avenue in East New York.

Officials warn that there could still be ice on the roads overnight.

Forecasts show periods of rain Tuesday, and temperatures could break into the 50s.
