BROOKLYN - Officials say that 41 reputed gang members were taken off Brooklyn streets today thanks to the help of social media.

Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes says that the “True Bosses” gang, which operated in Bushwick, was one of the most organized gangs his office had ever seen.

The 41 suspects were arrested on charges including murder, conspiracy and robbery. Police say the arrests came after a yearlong investigation that included evidence collected through Facebook.

Officials say the gang, which was formed in 2003, had recently begun recruiting children as young as 12 years old.
