SUNSET PARK - Residents in Sunset Park and Windsor Terrace will now only have to move their cars for alternate-side parking once a week.

For years, street cleaning trucks have been forcing residents to wake up early to move their cars twice a week.

Now, thanks to new legislation from the City Council that allows local community boards to apply for once-a-week street cleanings, residents have less to worry about.

The legislation offers an opportunity for community boards to apply for the once-a-week cleaning by providing evidence that their streets are clean enough.

Signs in the area will be changed in the coming weeks.
