Some Flatbush parents want traffic light at busy intersection

FLATBUSH - Some Flatbush parents are urging the Department of Transportation (DOT) to put in a traffic light at a busy intersection.

Residents were able to express their concerns about the intersection of East 23rd Street and Foster Avenue to the DOT Tuesday. According to police, there have been 36 accidents near the intersection since 1996. In April, a 10-year-old boy was hit while riding his bike. Parents are hoping something is done before the start of the school year.

The DOT is expected to present its plan on how to slow traffic near the intersection to residents within three months.
