BROOKLYN - While officials asked everyone to either evacuate or hunker down ahead of Hurricane Irene, some residents took a more casual attitude toward the storm.

On Noble Avenue in The Bronx, a group of guys could be seen playing a softball game while across the street, balconies could be seen filled with belongings.

Many residents when asked if they are worrying about the storm said they feel it's a New York thing and that the storm will not be as bad as predicted.

While some residents plan to take the storm in stride, officials continue to remind everyone to take precautions up to and including evacuating if you live in a low-lying or flood-prone area.
