Some travelers opting to stay home for holiday weekend

SUNSET PARK - With high gas prices and the threat of gridlock traffic as travelers get away for the next few days, many Brooklyn residents are opting to stay home for the holiday weekend.

While gas prices have gone down a bit, some still feel it's too pricey to fill the tank and as a result, a staycation in Brooklyn is the choice for many this Memorial Day weekend.

For those who still wanted to get away for the weekend, but didn't want to pay high prices for gas, the MTA added additional bus and train service for the Friday rush.
