BROOKLYN - A Gravesend woman gave birth to an impatient baby inside her McDonald Avenue apartment this morning, family members say.

The woman, who didn't want her name to be published because she says she's on active military duty, says she felt like she had cramps this morning. She says went into labor sitting at her kitchen table and delivered her second child, a boy, at around 8 a.m.

Relatives say EMS workers who rushed to the scene "cut her pants open and found the baby."

The mother and her 7-pound, 13-ounce newborn were taken to Methodist Hospital, where they're both doing fine.
