BROOKLYN - A specially designed water tap has been installed at the Nethermead in Prospect Park.

The Smart Tap fountain is designed to fill bottles and also incorporates a standard drinking fountain attached to it.

The fountain was donated to the park by the organization Smart Tap, which is dedicated to ensuring tap water is more accessible in big cities.

The Prospect Alliance hopes that the fountain will encourage park goers to use reusable bottles instead of plastic ones.

Kids at the park say the fountain is also perfect for germaphobes who worry about having to put their mouths on a fountain.

This water tap is the first of six that will be installed at the Nethermead this summer.
