Speed bumps keep Brooklyn school kids safe, DOT says

CONEY ISLAND - Brooklyn parents are praising the city?s installment of speed bumps throughout the borough?s schools.The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) installed speed bumps at nearly 100 Brooklyn schools in 2006. DOT officials say such safety measures are important to keep children safe in and around schools.Parents at P.S. 329 in Coney Island say the speed bumps are a welcome improvement.
