BROOKLYN - ? A traffic calming measure on Prospect Park West has been successful in reducing accidents and gridlock.

The Department of Transportation recently cut the traffic lanes from three to two. It also added a bike path.

A recent study of the changes found the number of cars traveling more than 40 miles per hour decreased by 95 percent. Neighbors say the redesign has improved the safety of Prospect Park West.
