BROOKLYN - A Long Island Rail Road spokesman says today's morning commute was a "normal rush hour" following a week of service disruptions.

Officials say repairs have been made to a fire-damaged switching system in Jamaica.

The fire disrupted service for most of the last week, causing several days of schedule changes and delays.

AP wire services were used in this report.
