BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents struggled through a second day of 90-degree temperatures today.

Considering the heat index, which is the combination of the temperature and humidity, many around the borough said the temperature felt like it was more than 100 degrees.

Straphangers say there was no relief again today from the sweltering heat while waiting for subway trains. Those waiting at the Atlantic Avenue station said they might have been more comfortable if there were fans on the platform.

To beat the heat, Brooklyn tourists and office workers crowded in the pedestrian plazas and cooling centers, while others carried water bottles, slathered on sunscreen or wore brimmed hats.
