BROOKLYN - Squibb Bridge, Brooklyn's newest bridge, is now open for pedestrians only.

The wooden bridge connects Brooklyn Bridge Park and Squibb Park, and was added in that location to make commuting a lot safer and faster. It provides a picturesque view of the Manhattan skyline.

The sloping $5 million footbridge drops by nearly 40 feet as it descends to the waterfront's Pier One. The bridge was made with special technology and bounces with each step.

A majority of the money for the bridge came from the Brooklyn Borough President's Office and the City Council.
