BROOKLYN - For 15,000 Starrett City residents, there is no escaping the hot temperatures during the heat wave Monday.

Officials say the apartment buildings are in the middle of a switch from the heating system to the cooling system, and the current heat wave unfortunately landed in the middle of that change over.

While a nearby recreation center has two cooling rooms, residents haven?t gone there, instead they?ve opened windows and put in fans to get a cross-breeze.
