BROOKLYN - A tenant group in Brooklyn got some much needed help in its fight against its landlord.

The state Tenant Protection Unit is taking action against landlord Yeshaya Wasserman, who owns and manages eight properties across Brooklyn.

Wasserman was served a subpoena for violating tenants' rights. Wasserman is accused of failing to cash rent checks, not providing heat and pressuring tenants to leave their homes.

Tenants say they are happy to finally be getting some help.
