NEW YORK - The annual State of the Chains report is out, and it shows a lot of growth that will keep fast food lovers happy.

According to the study, Brooklyn and the Bronx have the biggest franchise growth rates throughout the entire city for 2013. Brooklyn came in first with a 2.8-percent increase in chain stores compared to last year. The Bronx followed with a 1.6-percent store increase. .

Topping the list for a sixth consecutive year as the largest national retailer in the Big Apple is Dunkin' Donuts. It also recently became the first national retailer with more than 500 stores across all five boroughs.

McDonald's just missed the top five, coming in at No. 6 with 240 restaurants across the city.
