State senator seeks food ban on subways

SUNSET PARK - State Sen. Bill Perkins is proposing a bill in the N.Y. Legislature to ban all eating in the subways. After surveying thousands of straphangers in his district, the Democratic senator from Manhattan says eliminating food in the subways can help temper the rodent problem. Straphangers would be hit with a $250 fine if they were caught eating in the subways.
