BROOKLYN - A stinky situation has popped up for some NYCHA neighbors in Coney Island.

According to residents at O'Dwyer Gardens, a stack stoppage caused sewage to overflow, affecting two apartments, the community center and the basement. They say feces and dirty water ruined couches, rugs, shoes and other items on their floors.

A spokesperson for NYCHA says it responded promptly to the problem by cleaning and deodorizing each area.
