BROOKLYN - The owner of a grocery store in Sunset Park fought off an armed robber this morning, according to police.

Family members say Freddy Perez was opening up Andy Grocery for the day at around 6 a.m. on 46th Street and 3rd Avenue when a man walked in with a gun and demanded cash.

Perez fought back against the suspect and was struck in the head with the gun. He says the gunman, believed to be in his 20s, didn't escape with any money.

Surveillance video from the store has been handed over to the police.
