BROOKLYN - The weekend storm left some Canarsie residents running for cover.

Some residents said they were caught off guard by the storm and had to run into cars to escape the rain.

"It came out of the blue. I wasn't expecting it," said one resident.

Others were prepared for the weather, and wore hoodies and carried umbrellas.
