Straphangers Campaign releases annual subway report

BROOKLYN - NYPIRG's Straphangers Campaign released its annual State of the Subways report today.

The campaign rated trains according to the amount of scheduled service, regularity, breakdown rate, chances of getting a seat, interior cleanliness and in-car announcements.

The ?R? train is at the bottom of the list for tidiness and keeping passengers informed. The ?A? train is last in the class for service. For the second year in a row, the ?C? train is ranked poorly in every category.

Some commuters say they do not care about ratings, while others say they will try to find another means of transportation.
