EAST NEW YORK - Fire officials say a stubborn warehouse fire in East New York that burned for nearly a day has been extinguished.

Officials say flames broke out around 3:30 p.m. yesterday at 3301 Fulton St. Hundreds of firefighters responded to the seven-alarm fire.

Fire officials say it was a complicated operation because the warehouse contains nine interconnected buildings, some of which suffered extensive roof collapse.

Seven firefighters were injured while battling the flames, according to authorities.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
