A 12-year-old student is being questioned for allegedly bringing a heating device to school and damaging a bus seat.Police say the student brought a food

BROOKLYN - A 12-year-old student is being questioned for allegedly bringing a heating device to school and damaging a bus seat.

Police say the student brought a food heater and gallon of water on to the bus. He dropped the materials and they exploded, according to police.

His parents say their son was bringing the materials for a science experiment and the explosion was an accident.

No one was injured by the device. The student also faces disciplinary action.
