BROOKLYN - Brooklyn students joined in with others across the country today to take part in a push to promote computer science in the classroom.
Students at P.S. 282 in Park Slope learned how to code on both computers and iPads today during the national event, "Hour of Code."
The non-profit group Code.org sponsored the event. With technology at the palms of most of our hands, organizers say it's important for kids to learn more about coding and computers in general.
Community Board 6 is helping to lead efforts like this in Brooklyn.
Officials are hoping to teach this kind of coding in all public New York City schools within the next 10 years.
