BROOKLYN - City lawmakers teamed up with the student-led group Make the Road New York to launch Pride Week at four Bushwick schools, in an effort to promote tolerance and safety. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Councilwoman Diana Reyna helped kick off the weeklong awareness campaign. Students in the group say they hope to make Brooklyn a safer place for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
